UH-1Y Venom 166756 1

The Bell UH-1Y Venom, also known as the 'Super Huey', is a twin-engine medium size utility helicopter used primarily by the United States Marine Corps.

Description[]

The Y-model Huey has upgraded features like a glass cockpit, further safety modifications and a modern FLIR system. However, an increase in engine power is the biggest improvement. This is due to the replaced engines and the new four-bladed rotor system. The UH-1Y will retain its natural role of utility for which it was designed. The UH-1Y therefore has more power to maneuver and so ground forces commanders riding in the Y-model will have radios, firepower and the range to match the transport helicopters carrying their troops. The UH-1Y is a versatile and effective aircraft with many adaptable features.
