The Eurocopter AS350 Ecureuil (known as AStar in North America) is a popular light utility helicopter. 

History[]

The AS350 was developed in the early 1970s by Aérospatiale, with the first example flying on 27 June 1974. It was introduced in 1974, and deliveries began in April 1978. Over 3,000 have been built as of 2002, and have grown popular with news agencies as well as police forces. Additionally, many AS350s currently serve with several militaries and governments.
