The E-1 Tracer was the first purpose built airborne early warning aircraft used by the United States Navy. This AWACS was a derivative of the Grumman C-1 Trader and entered service in 1958 ( 66 years ago) and retired in 1977 ( 47 years ago), it first flight was 17 December 1956 (68 years ago) it was replaced by Grumman E-2 Hawkeye which is the better version in 1964 and the total production was 88.
