The Irbis-E is a multi-mode passive electronically scanned array radar (PESA), that is used by the Sukhoi Su-35BM Flanker-E. The Irbis-E was developed by Tikhomirov NIIP and was based on the N011M BARS radar of the Sukhoi Su-30MKI. The Irbis-E is able to track up to 30 targets in Track-While-Scan mode and engage 8 of them; it operates in X-Band.
The Irbis-E has a detection range of 400 km against a 3 m² target, its cited detection range against 0.01 m² targets is 90 km. The Irbis-E is able to perform ground mapping, allowing it to take out up to four ground targets, while searching for airborne targets in the air, simultaneously.
