The Junkers Flugzeugwerke AG/Junkers Motorenbau GmbH was a company by the German businessman,
inventor, engineer, and aviation pioneer Hugo Junkers. He received his first aviation patent in 1910. In the year 1913, he founded an engine factory in Magdeburg, but the venture lasted only until 1915. The Junkers Motorenbau GmbH was founded in 1923 in Dessau. The company was most successful during World War II, during which it developed advanced aircraft and jet engines.
