Kamov is a Russian rotor-winged aircraft manufacturing company founded by Nikolai Il'yich Kamov in 1929.
The Kamov Design Bureau (prefix: Ka) was created to develop helicopters for naval ships. The unique demands of designing helicopters specifically for naval usage led them to embark on further research into co-axial designs. As such, Kamov's helicopters tend to be compact-sized helicopters with co-axial rotors.
In 2008, Kamov, JSC became integrated into the company structure of Russian Helicopters, JSC[1].
