Lockheed Martin is an aerospace company, a merger of Lockheed and Martin Marietta. It is based out of Bethesda, Maryland. The company was formed in 1995 as a result of the fusion between Lockheed Corporation and Martin Marietta.
Currently, the most important program by Lockheed Martin is the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, which is known as the most expensive fighter program of all time. The company has disappeared from the comercial airliner industry a long time ago, after stopping the producion of some classics like the Tristar. Lockheed Martin is also known for being well integrated into several programs of space industry.
