This article is a guide to how articles should be written on the Aircraft Wiki.
Point of View[]
Each article should be written with as little bias as possible, preferably none at all. Instead of saying "the F-22 Craptor," say that it was called the "F-22 Raptor," its official name.
Layout[]
Airplane Article Layout[]
Articles about airplanes should be written like this:
Intro[]
Being a few lines, or a paragraph long, this part gives a short description on the airplane. This part can also include the first flight date, prooduction numbers, and retirement dates.
Details[]
At this point you should write about the planes history, development etc. (while the intro is a quick summary, this should be a detailed description of the aircraft)
Specifications[]
This section provides some specific details on the plane. It is mainly a list that includes the following : length. wingspan, wing area, maximum speed, rate of climb, service ceiling, and, if possible, the lift/weight ratio and lift/drag ratio.
This section can be also replaced by a sidebar, but it must be used on conventional aircraft articles (like here for exampel: F-16 Fighting Falcon) only and can be copied from here:http://aircraft.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Sidebar_aircraft and must be placed on the top of the article but can´t be used on an articles containing information about a missile or an aircraft radar.
Notes[]
A list of notes for the plane featured in the article. This part mainly has miscellaneous things in it, like the type of ejection seat or notable names.
Operators[]
This part is optional, as it can be included in the "Intro" section. It is a list of current and previous users for the airplane.
Variants[]
A list of variants for the plane. as a rule of thumb, if the list is above 10 planes, skip this part.
Gallery[]
A collection of images for the airplane.
Companies[]
This part is for how to write articles for aircraft companies like Boeing and Heinkel. It is relatively non-complicated in comparison to aircraft articles. These articles should have as much info in them as possible, including notable members, notable planes the company made, when it was founded, and when the company went bankrupt (if it went bankrupt of course).
