The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA)(formerly known as the Medium Combat Aircraft (MCA))is an Indian lightweight, fifth-generation fighter, that is still in development by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited ( HAL ). It is designed for air superiority, with ground attack and reconnaissance as secondary roles.
It is expected to be in the size class of the F-35 and equipped with stealth features. Its maiden flight is planned to take place in 2012 and it is designed to replace the capability of the SEPECAT Jaguar and the Mirage 2000.
