During the 1970’s Angola achieved its independence from Portugal and services of Boeing 737 started. In the 1980’s TAAG had a period of rapid growth with their new Boeing 707 and a period of situations of political and civil unrest and drop of oil prices with the airline the only connection between Angolan cities.
