TAAG Angola airlines is the national flag carrier of Angola founded in 1938 with services to Africa, Brazil, Cuba, China and Portugal. It is partly banned from the European Union with the exceptions of their Boeing Aircraft.

History

They first started with the creation of Divisao dos Transportes Aeros de Angola (Angola Aerial Transport Division) in 1938. With a fleet of five small aircraft, they had few destinations to some African cities. In 1948, they began their Douglas DC-3 operations in Angola. During the 1970’s Angola achieved its independence from Portugal and services of Boeing 737 started. In the 1980’s TAAG had a period of rapid growth with their new Boeing 707 and a period of situations of political and civil unrest and drop of oil prices with the airline the only connection between Angolan cities. As the new millennium rolls by, TAAG achieved its first Boeing 747, four Boeing 737 and three Boeing 777. They also introduced new destinations to Europe, Dubai and China.
