The Tupolev Tu-104 was a twinjet medium-range Soviet airliner. The second to enter service behind the infamous de Havilland Comet, and it was the only jet airliner operating from 1956-1958 when the Comet was grounded due to safety issues and crashes. Czechoslovak airlines was the startup airline, and became the first airline to fly a route exclusively with jet airliners, between Prague and Moscow. Aeroflot later flew the aircraft.
