The XCOR Lynx is a rocketplane and a suborbital spaceplane. It is also a technology testbed for XCOR's two-stage to orbit technology. The Lynx is designed to the performance envelope needed for the second stage of a TSTO system. The Lynx itself is built as a two-seater, rocket-power-only plane that launches and lands on a conventional runway. Its engine technology has been developed through older rockeplanes EZ-Rocket and Prototype X-Racer
